1999 was marked by the approaching turn of the millennium. Due to the previous two-digit year numbers, there was practically only one topic for the IT industry, namely averting the impending catastrophe for interest calculations and the like. This led to numerous exciting round-the-clock projects. Mission accomplished: the apocalypse was averted.
