The OData V2 Connectors package provides Apache Kafka Connect source and sink connectors specifically designed for seamless integration with OData V2 services. Although compatible with any OData V2 service, these connectors are optimized for SAP OData V2 services, facilitating efficient interaction with exposed entity sets.

Both connectors exclusively work with entity sets, ensuring streamlined data processing for OData V2-based interactions.

Compatibility and Limitations

  • OData Protocol Versions: These connectors are tailored for OData V2 and may not be compatible with other OData protocol versions. For more details, visit OData.
  • Offset Handling & Data Delivery: OData V2 does not natively support offset handling, delta data delivery, or change data capture, which means the source connector cannot guarantee exactly-once delivery semantics.

  • Nested Data Support: The source connector fully supports nested data structures and OData V2’s simple data types, ensuring a rich, hierarchical data representation.
  • Schema Integration: The source connector leverages the metadata provided by the OData V2 service to dynamically construct comprehensive Kafka Connect schemas for each entity, enhancing integration with the Kafka ecosystem.

OData Protocol

The OData V2 Connectors follow the OData V2 protocol.

Kafka

  • Tested on Confluent Platform v6.0.1, v7.0.1, v7.3.0, v7.5.0, v7.6.0 and v7.7.0
  • Tested with Apache Kafka and Connect API v2.6, v2.8, v3.3, v3.5, v3.6 and v3.8

Dependencies

The connectors package includes all library dependencies. Apache Olingo V2 is being used for connecting to OData V2 services.
