Kafka Connect - OData V4 Connectors

Product Description

The OData V4 Connectors package provides Apache Kafka Connect source and sink connectors specifically designed for seamless interaction with OData V4 services and can be used for Change Data Capture (CDC). Although compatible with any OData V4 service, these connectors are optimized for SAP OData V4 services, facilitating efficient interaction with exposed entity sets.

Compatibility and Limitations

  • OData Protocol Versions: These connectors are tailored for OData V4 and may not be compatible with other OData protocol versions. For more details, visit OData.
  • Offset Handling & Data Delivery: OData V4 does not natively support offset handling, delta data delivery, or change data capture, which means the source connector cannot guarantee exactly-once delivery semantics.

  • Nested Data Support: The source connector fully supports nested data structures and OData V4’s simple data types, ensuring a rich, hierarchical data representation.
  • Schema Integration: The source connector leverages the metadata provided by the OData V4 service to dynamically construct comprehensive Kafka Connect schemas for each entity, enhancing integration with the Kafka ecosystem.

Dependencies

The connectors package includes all library dependencies. Apache Olingo V4 is being used for connecting to OData V4 services.
